In July 2021, the Senate President and House Speaker formed the Legislative Redistricting Advisory Commission.

The Commission is to redraw Maryland's Cngressional and Legislative election district maps.

Seven members constitute the Commission. They are appointed by the Senate President and House Speaker, who also designate the Chair.
