[photo, Calvert County Courthouse, Prince Frederick, Maryland] In Calvert County, the legislative and executive branches of County government are administered by the Board of County Commissioners.

Elected to four-year terms by the voters, the Board of County Commissioners consists of five members, with one residing in each of the three County Commissioner Election Districts, and two members elected at large. Annually, the President and Vice-President are chosen for a one-year term by the Board.
