Eleven members comprise the Board. They are appointed to four-year terms by the County Executive with County Council consent (Code Local Government Article, sec. 1-606; County Code, secs. 2-339 through 2-342).

PARK & RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD
The Park and Recreation Advisory Board advises the County Executive, County Council, and Planning Board on planning and conducting a diversified park and recreation program.
The Department of Parks and Recreation operates the County’s six Senior Centers. The Centers are open to residents aged 60 and over. Activities include arts and crafts, computer labs, dance classes, fitness programs, table games, and trips. Senior Centers are located in Camp Springs; Capitol Heights (John E. Howard Center); Hyattsville (Langley Park Center); Laurel; North Brentwood (Gwendolyn Britt Center); and Seat Pleasant (Evelyn Cole Center).
